My name is Chuck De La Mater, being a dialysis patient since 2006 I realized early on that I needed to look for alternative solutions to dialysis, hooked up to a machine, 4-5 hours a day, three days a week, year after year, and to top it off; the average life expectancy is only 5-10 years! Many patients do not survive long enough to receive a kidney transplant; with an average of 4-5 years or much longer depending on your condition and where you live. I have been fortunate to still be here today. Back in 2006, regenerative medicine was in its infancy in the US, but I soon realized that this would be the way of the future, if I was going to change the current system it would have to be through this emerging new technology.
